I am extremely proud and pleased to present today’s comic strip to you all. It was sent to me recently by one of my favorite new webcomic creators, Mark Stokes! For the life of me, I can’t recall how I came across Mark‘s work. It may have been through Twitter or maybe just spying him hanging out on someone else’s comments page, but once I backtracked him to his own site, I’ve been taken away by his style.

From the first glimpse of his art, I thought that Mark was a professional cartoonist who’d been working and honing his craft for years. It looked that natural. His style could fit right in with the best in the business like Mort Walker, Dik Browne, and Charles Schulz.

Mark Stokes is the creator of the webcomic series, Zombie Boy. ZB has been around for quite awhile and has gone thru various incarnations (all of which are very entertaining). Personally, I’m a huge fan of Mark‘s flair for coloring. His palette rivals my own and each of his comics (which are posted Mon-Wed-Fri) have a distinct look which certainly sets a mood.

I am so glad that Mark sent this strip to me. I love the way he captured the characters from ADDANAC CITY, giving them their own unique style and identity. It’s fun to see your creations thru someone else’s eyes. So give it up for Mark Stokes and please, pay him a visit over on Zombie Boy to get your chills and chuckles on!

Today’s Guest Comic comes from a very good cartoonist friend of mine, Jenn, who hails all the way from Vancouver, British Columbia. Jenn and I met while on Twitter (or was it Facebook)? Either/or, what-which-a-way, we quickly became good pals and great supporters of each other’s artistic endeavors.

I really like her wild sense of humor and her line-work and subject matter (Chin-chin-chillas, y’all!) is kinda intriguing to me. You don’t bump into chinchillas everywhere, y’know?

Jenn has been dreaming up and drawing the wild and zany antics of Rolo, Shakespeare, Lingling, and others on her webcomic site, ChinChatComics, since October 2010.

Her endearing characters have garnered her a faithful following of readers who return for every installment. The series posts new comics Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays now.

One day, Jenn asked if I was accepting guest comics for myself, since I always seem to be contributing to other cartoonists. I told her, SURE!

I love seeing what other artistic-minded folks can do with my “chirrun”. After a couple of weeks had rolled by, I received a nice FB message from Jenn stating that she had completed a guest strip for me.

I was thoroughly pleased by what I saw. Plus, she even colored it! You know what a sucker I am for some loud color.

So, thank you very, very much for this comic, Jenn. I love the way your mind works and I like seeing hank and the other characters thru your unique vision.

If there’s anything I can do to return the favor, just ask Bearman me!

“This is the 1st time I’ve done a guest comic & actually killed off another cartoonist’s character. If George ever wants to use her again it will have to be in a cloning story.

Or she could come back as a zombie I guess. Lloyd is one of those characters who has an almost child-like innocence & gullibility, yet things almost always see to go wrong for him.

He just seemed like the perfect character to use as the abductee who unwittingly becomes a murder suspect. Poor Lloyd can just never get a break!.

Look at what I got in an email last weekend! MC/Curtis and Jen Hernandez sent me some very cool artwork of Hank Addanac.

I love the way they incorporated eternal fussbudget, Lucy Van Pelt from Peanuts, and resident bully, Nelson, from The Simpsons fame! Hank is truly in some bad company indeed.

MC/Curtis and Jen create the goofy and exciting webcomic series ButterSword. ButterSword embraces the genres of science fiction, fantasy, comedy, drama, thriller, horror, and everything else you can dream about. It’s an amalgamation of pure entertainment.

I’ve been reading BS for a few months now, although the series does have a lengthy and extensive history and archive. I’d advise you to check out the efforts this talented duo offers twice a week!

One guy who is always dependable and can be counted upon to lend a hand or spread the word is Roland Perez of Metal Jaw Comics. Roland and I don’t speak all day every day, but we do raise a hand and say whasssssup whenever we bump into each other on the web.

One day on Twitter, Roland notified me that he was working on some AC Fan Art for me. I replied that I was completely honored and told him not be in any rush. He could email me the finished design whenever he felt like it. I hate to make someone who’s doing me a favor feel unnecessarily pressured.

A week after that communique, I received the image below in my Gmail inbox:

I was blown away! I feel that this drawing totally captures the way Hank regards us mortals and the rest of the mouth-breathers crawling around the world. The boy/monster I created so many eons ago is a seven-year-old megalomaniac and sociopath and Roland understood that perfectly and rendered that vision impeccably.

Roland Perez creates his own webcomic, Z & G, on his Metal Jaw Comics website. The series updates on Mondays and Fridays in full glorious color.

And in Roland’s own words, here’s how he describes the stars of his webcomic series:

“Z (Zech) is not your run of the mill flesh eating zombie. He is more of a voodoo zombie who after being brought back to life, was given no direction due to the witch who brought him back being killed. He is a little on the slow side with a hint of being naive. Z just recently had a run-in with his wife, Milly, from when he was alive. He still has no recollection of her.

G (Geist) on the other hand is an ornery ghost who is pink and unable to leave the confines of the house that Z and he share. Z likes his hanging out with G, as where G is just stuck.”

I stay pretty busy, but I try not to get so busy that I can’t take the time to visit my favorite comic websites, or discover new ones. I may be slow, but I get there eventually.

Well, one late, late night, I was making my rounds and I just started clicking on interesting-looking Project Wonderful ads. I discovered one that seemed to hold a bit of promise. It boasted to be a weekly webcomic about the wacky goings-on at a mall.

Hmm.…I hadn’t heard of that premise yet, so I gave it a look. I liked the art and you know how much of a fool I am for some color. I started poring thru the archive of Faron Square at 4am and couldn’t stop. It was a pretty good read and I quickly caught up to the present day.

I left a few comments telling the creator, Bruce Quast, how much i enjoyed his webcomic. He replied with his humble thanks, and we began lightly corresponding.

A few weeks ago, I received this nifty drawing in the mail. It’s now hanging up in my office with the rest of my treasured art from creators around the world.

Like I said previously, I have been relatively busy so I didn’t have a chance to give Bruce a proper gracias for his artistic treat until now.

Andrew Clark creates an online graphic novel by the name of Slice of Fate. I began following his comic a couple of years ago but I hadn’t been following it as closely as I used to. Andrew‘s skills have skyrocketed since he first began the series. He’s continuously incorporated color and his line-work is crisp and clean. Overall, I’m impressed with what I see coming from his imagination these days. The guy is improving by the millisecond.

So, let me back to the story of the email. In the correspondence, Andrew wished me well for having reached my 800th AC comic milestone. He wanted to help celebrate that joyous occasion with me by sending me a drawing of Hank as a super-hero sidekick. I was floored! Andrew did a bang-up job and I can vividly imagine Hank being a disgruntled second banana to a top-level hero.

Thank you so much for making my day, Andrew! I hope everyone who views this piece of art appreciates it as much as I do. I will most definitely have to return the favor. Folks, take a moment and go thru the archives of Slice of Fate and get yourself some classic entertainment. It’s a pretty good read!

I met Sam Medina thru Twitter late last year. This guy seems to have come from outta nowhere and has taken the webcomic world by storm. I see him everywhere these days!

Sam and I have corresponded back and forth, showing love for one another’s comic. Jake is one bad rabbit, in my opinion, and Hank is one of the worst-behaved kids around. He sent me an email one day saying that perhaps our two main characters should meet. I eagerly agreed, and within a few days, I received this comic as a reply.

I thought it was pretty darned nifty. Jake is a rapscallion and it seems like he’s gotten the best of our boy, Hank. I hope you all like today’s comic crafted by Sam, and since you do, go pay Jake the Evil Hare a visit and see what wildness takes place in that adrenaline=pumped comic!

She and I have been pals since the days when it was fashionable to actually have a MySpace profile, and we’ve been cool ever since. I hope to get her to do more things to showcase her artistic talent in the future.

This recent piece of ADDANAC CITY Fan Art was created by a great guy, Thadyus Thaxton, who’s from my hometown even though we had never gotten in touch until I was three thousand miles away. We’ve been corresponding back and forth via Facebook, and since Thadyus is a cartoonist, I asked if he would design something I could put up on the site. He didn’t hesitate an iota of a second. Before I knew it, this baby arrived in my email box. I would like to share Thadyus’ talent with you all. If you get a chance, check out some of his other works of art.
