Texting has taken over the world. Everywhere I go, whether it’s the grocery store, doctor’s office, or public library, I see folks pecking away at their mobile devices.
Personally, I find nothing wrong with texting. I do it myself! It’s ideal when you have a quick message you want to convey.
However, texting can easily get out of hand (take the above strip for
example). I’ve had people sending me text messages while they were sitting directly beside me!
There are a few instances where this is acceptable. If you’re at work with a coworker and the boss is in the vicinity, it may be prudent to text each other in order to avoid being overheard by the Big Kahuna.
Or if you’re in a venue where the noise level is such that you would not be able to carry on a decent conversation (although, if you can’t hear each other, how would you even hear the beeping signal from your phone notifying you of a message?)
All in all, I can attest that our tiny friend, Hank, is absolutely pushing his luck by antagonizing his dad with the texting. He’d better have fun before the punishment begins.
